Butuan City Police Station 1 Adopt a School in Barangay Maug
Less fortunate kids in Maug Elementary School will continue to benefit free school supplies and mass feeding from officers and men of Butuan City Police Office Station 1.
The Adopt a School initiative links police to the community for humanitarianism aspect and at the same time obtain cooperation in solving crime incidents.
Station 1 Commander Joseph Boquiren is happy to announce that BCPO personnel worked with Maug Elementary School and make regular visits, providing the students free school supplies and feedings.
Recently, 400 pre-school and elementary students benefited the mass feeding conducted by police personnel in honor of BCPO’s patron saint, St. Michael Archangel.
“In these hard times, we in the office have decided to pool some resources for the children in Maug Elementary School instead of having a party,” said Station 1 Commander Boquiren.
The Adopt-A-School program aims to have a positive impact in providing an avenue for children to know and trust their local police member as a friend.
Station 1 commander assured, the program will be sustained even with the change of commands as police officers come and go but interactive partnerships with the community stays.
